How do I get a domain name?
The steps to registering domain names are easier and more straightforward than they have ever been. Everything can now be done online and, in just a few clicks of a button, you can register one for yourself very easily through our domain registering page.
However, before registering there are a couple of things to keep in mind:
First off, you need to remember that the registering of a domain is akin to renting a house in the sense that you don’t purchase it and own it outright. When you register, you pay for the licensing of that particular web name.
Next comes deciding on the domain name itself. You might like it to be your business name, would rather something that describes what your business does, or something else entirely – whatever you decide, you’ll need to perform a search and make sure it’s available.
Finally, you need to make sure you fit with the eligibility criteria that can accompany specific domain extensions. Many are quite lax with registration (.com, .net, etc.) but when you’re registering a .com.au domain name, for example, they’re stricter. Make sure you’ve done your homework prior to registration!
